The Department of Government Support - Abu Dhabi (DGS) was established in accordance with Emiri Decree issued by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in October 2019. The DGS is chaired by Ali Rashed Al Ketbi.
Under the terms of this Decree, the DGS encompasses the Human Resources Authority - Abu Dhabi (HRA), the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) and the Abu Dhabi School of Government (ADSG). The Department meets the needs of other government entities and provides services that exceed customer expectations, while conforming to the highest international practices and standards.
The Government Procurement Office was set up as per the Law No. (4) of 2020 regarding the establishment of the Department of Government Support. As stipulated in the article No. (5) of the law, the Department of Government Support aims to regulate government procurement and bids, setting the directives governing them, submitting them to the Executive Council for approval according to the applicable legislation.
